Datum und Uhrzeit

Workshop of the project „Prepare“ of the International Office. Trainer: Andrew Cerniski, English, Inc., Heidelberg.

Content:
Especially in today’s context, where video conferences have become the norm and are attended by listeners from around the globe, the ability to speak effectively to groups in English is valuable. This workshop examines tools for presenting your topic (and yourself) impressively in English and provides opportunities to practice these tools actively. The overall goal is to explore methods and principles which you can apply to a wide range of presentation situations and to increase your confidence when delivering a talk in English – whether face-to-face or online.

Note: The workshop is interactive, and you’ll need to be able to share your audio and video and to create simple visuals and share your screen. To do so, you’ll need to participate via your laptop or desktop and will need to have downloaded the Zoom desktop client.

Topics
• What makes a good presentation good (and a bad one bad)?
• How can you start your talk impressively?
• What are some options for structuring content so as to keep your listeners on track?
• How can your voice contribute to your message?
